The sound is surprisingly good for a recording with built-in mikes and automatic level adjustment - no doubt facilitated by the crystal clear sound coming from the p.a. system, these guys have an amazing sound engineer! And of course a brilliant lighting artist - this video really highlights his work, the light show on "The Gloaming" and "Just" and "You and Whose Army" is spectacular. The "tube lights" work especially well on video, they seem brighter than I remember them from watching on site. What you do NOT get to see much of is the band - they are mostly small dark silhouettes on this huge stage... I didn't upload this before now, because the quality is not what it should be. I had hoped someone else would upload this show before now. The "Low Cut" on my R-9 was on for this show by mistake. I have no idea how it happened. I've never turned that one before. I used some additional tools to try and improve the sound, but they can only do so much. Me and the friend I went with ended up completely soaking wet just by walking to the pavilion from the parking lot through the pouring rain. We wore trashbags with head holes torn out of the bottom to help cut the wind. All but one road in to the venue was closed due to flooding and it got so bad that police were turning away the late-arriving concert go'ers! This is among the first times I'd taped at Nissan Pavilion, it's a great sounding place, but aside from it's sound, it adds absolutely nothing to the concert experiance (and in fact takes away from it in many ways). Great show though, the band was incredable. Aside from a couple of errors at the begining of "Faust Arp", they sounded absolutely perfect. Thom's voice is amazing and the lights they had on stage were marvelous.
