modifiedbear Posted December 27, 2017 Report Share Posted December 27, 2017 Spulciando alcune cose scritte da Pritchard su Gearslutz a proposito della strumentazione usata per registrare Beautiful People: ”All the Mellotron stuff is Gforce - Mtron Pro, The Synth i think is Prophet 6 (Thom's). The percussion was recorded at my friends studio Josh Wermot, he has more mic's than me I only have a RE20. I think it was mainly his Coles Ribbon mic. Josh's Sister is a percussion player and she kindly lent us her percussion + i have some as well. Obviously Moondog inspired I thought it would be easy to recreate but of coarse it wasn't, i think it was over 20 tracks of percussion layered up.In the mid section i layered up my Musical saw. Quindi Thom oltre a cantare ha fatto anche le parti di synth (beh l'avevamo capito, inconfondibile il Profeta ) Poi ammettono l'influenza di Moondog per la parte di percussioni, ma c'è una cosa che mi ha stupito: il Mellotron è fatto con Mtron Pro, mentre io avrei giurato si trattasse di un sample! Senti qui che dice il pazzo di thekingofgear, a proposito del nuovo live di TMB: "Thom’s use of the Prophet-6 at these solo shows confirms that he used the keyboard for his collaboration with Mark Pritchard on the track Beautiful People. Pritchard commented on the gearslutz forum that he thought Thom used a Prophet 6, but since Thom continued to use a Prophet 08 with Radiohead it seemed possible that Pritchard misremembered which Prophet (an easy mistake).
