Questa, di fatto, pur essendo la stessa canzone è un'altra canzone, come Fog Again rispetto a Fog, come Morning Bell/Amnesiac rispetto a Morning Bell. Dal primo ascolto permane in me questa idea sul pezzo: la trovo poco riuscita e ci sento suoni che sicuramente mi rimandano all'idea di Kid A/Amnesiac e che, a mio avviso, poco c'entrano con True Love Waits. Quando sparirono dai social sembrava un momento epifanico collettivo nel mondo dei social media e invece era una semplicissima operazione di marketing, con TKOL sembrava dovessero rivoluzionare la fruizione del prodotto musicale ai tempi dell'mp3 con il rilascio dei rami e invece era un disco normalissimo, il Newspaper album pareva una caccia al tesoro di dimensioni mondiali e invece era un semplice giornale, la lettera a casa con scritto "We Know Were You Live" si è rivelata una semplice lettera e così via. Vengono da una versione di True Love Waits registrata nel 1996 a St Catherine's Court (session Ok Computer). https://citizeninsane.eu/pulkpull.html Tra l'altro Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors e Pakt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box, anticipano la moda dell'autotuner, che adesso spopola nei dischi di James Blake e dei Bon Iver: quando i Radiohead facevano la Storia. Nigel ha più volte scritto che Thom ha provato quasi ad ogni session ad arrangiarla e che in quelle di AMSP si era messo in testa di farla, forse non poteva/voleva più rimandare. Questa, e lo dico ahime perché le vicende biografiche non dovrebbero influenzare, ma per i fan come noi purtroppo è quasi impossibile, dicevo questa nuova True Love Waits oggi assume tutt'altra dignità e valore. Tutto quello che prima ce l'aveva fatta evitare, ovvero le precedenti edizioni, ora le dona ulteriore splendore. Tenerissima e tristissima, oggi per la prima volta l'ho davvero accettata e amata.
