Lacatus Posted June 4, 2016 Report Share Posted June 4, 2016 Raccogliamo qui le interviste rilasciate da Thom, Jonny, Ed, Colin, Phil, Clive, Nigel, Stanley (ed eventuali altri collaboratori come Plank, i registi Chris Hopewell, Paul Thomas Anderson, ecc) a proposito del nuovo album A Moon Shaped Pool. Questa intervista a Jonny, fu pubblicata nell'inverno 2014/2015, dunque DOPO la sessione preeliminare ad Oxford dell'autunno 2014, e PRIMA delle due sessioni in Provenza del 2015 (aprile/maggio e settembre/ottobre) che hanno dato fisionomia a A Moon Shaped Pool. Si tratta dell'intervista dove il piccolo Greenwood dichiarò: { “We’ve [Radiohead] certainly changed our method again. It’s too involved [to explain how]. Parla Olivier Coates il violoncellista della London Contemporary Orchestra e dice che gli archi di Burn The Witch sono stati suonati con un plettro e che Thom Yorke sostiene che il suono di A Moon Shaped Pool sia quello degli archi alla fine di Daydreaming. Dice anche che molta roba sia dell'orchestra che dei cori è stata tagliata fuori dal disco... Mammamia ragazzi! E' una cosa che disse Jonny Greenwood in un intervista di molto tempo fa perchè, molto probabilmente, non voleva lasciar trapelare indizi sul nuovo lavoro e perchè, forse, non aveva molti altri elementi per dare una risposta più dettagliata. Secondo me lascia molto il tempo che trova... Hanno sempre mischiato tecnologia vecchia con tecnologia nuova nei loro album a partire da OK Computer, compreso l'ultimo album. Beh tieni conto che Jonny in quella vecchia intervista parlò di LIMITAZIONI. Per cui ci si aspettava che limitando il range al solo "vecchissimo e nuovissimo" venisse spazzato via tutto quello che c'era in mezzo. Quello che è accaduto è che, probabilmente non soddisfatti di questo approccio, una volta che si sono ritrovati in Provenza per riprendere in mano il lavoro svolto ad Oxford nell'autunno 2014, abbiano deciso di tornare ad un approccio più classico, full band, lasciandosi andare proprio alla voglia di suonare come gruppo e abbandonando il progetto "very old + very new" del quale rimane qualche testimonianza forse solo in Daydraming...
