The band kicked off their tour with their sole New Zealand show last night at Auckland’s Vector Arena and reports are emerging that Thom Yorke was suffering throat troubles throughout the performance. The New Zealand Herald reported that Thom York was ”sounding a little rough by the end on which he blamed jetlag.”We can almost hear the collective intake of breath as local fans’ minds wander back to the past: specifically Radiohead’s cancelled Hail to the Thief tour in 2004, an incident that saw a Melbourne show canned due to throat issues! This is the band’s first visit since that fated tour. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself this time round.Radiohead kick off their Australian dates with a show in Brisbane this Friday.
