That's right, eMOTIVe is not the remix album. The remix album will be a separate compilation of old and new remixes packaged with the upcoming live DVD. Since Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums is both a remix and a political song, seems like it wouldn't be out of place on either disc. Got it? Good.

beh chiedilo a mike patton! più che altro è raro che ci sia musica di così elevato livello (tool e a perfect circle sono molto diversi, e uno meglio dell'altro) contemporaneamente. Credo che in passato solo il povero layne staley sia riuscito a far ottime cose con due grandi progetti (anche se era già a fine carriera purtroppo, e l'ultimo degli alice non era così bello). Forse oggi sarebbero da menzionare, oltre a Patton, i godspeed you! black emperor, che con gli a silver mt zion memorial orchestra stanno facendo cose diverse ma comunque di ottima qualità tuttavia, se non conosci ancora né tool né a perfect circle, ti consiglio caldamente di iniziarti. Con quale album? Mah... considera che non ce n'è uno che non valga l'acquisto, per cui... (sul web ring trovi il link al forum di entrambi i gruppi)

ci sono clamorosi nuovi sviluppi in casa a perfect circle. Ci si attendeva un lungo stop. E Il long-awaited Dvd Live+book dei Blue Oyster Club. Ma se c'è qualcuno che se ne infischia veramente del mercato, quello credo che sia Maynard James Keenan, che almeno dal mio punto di vista, sta esagerando (ma ne sono contento ovviamente). Non sarei contento se ciò significasse altro, ma il tempo mi saprà dire. In occasione del concerto per l'Axis of Justice, l'associazione per gli homeless di Serj Tankian e Tom Morello, Maynard ha cantato due canzoni (una degli U2!!!), e soprattutto ha parlato dei progetti prossimi degli A PERFECT CIRCLE. la notizia in inglese. poi i commenti. 07/17/04 • THE NEW ALBUM We finally have the details all of you have been hounding us for. This evening, Maynard appeared at the Axis Of Justice show in Hollywood, where he sang the Joni Mitchell song The Fiddle And The Drum a capella, as well as U2's Where The Streets Have No Name, along with Tom Morello, Serj Tankian, and Pete Yorn (Serj and Pete did most of the singing however). During his solo performance, he announced that A Perfect Circle was recording an album of "political" songs which they hope to release before November of this year. So there you have it, a new album from APC is indeed on the way. Furthermore, RoadRunner Records has confirmed the tracklist for the Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack, due out August 31st, and it is to feature a Danny Lohner remix of The Outsider. The full tracklist can be viewed here. Also, MTV2's Headbanger's Ball Vol. 2 compilation CD shall feature Weak And Powerless. Finally, for clarity, the live DVD and APC remix album from Danny Lohner are now both confirmed for a November release as well. in pratica, gli a perfect circle stanno ultimando un nuovo album di canzoni politiche (visto il contesto in cui l'ha riferito, la axis of justice appunto, potrei anche crederci,... ma conoscendolo potrebbe anche essere uno scherzo). In tentativo di uscita PRIMA DI NOVEMBRE. Dovrebbero essere canzoni (si dice heavy) le cui musiche sono pronte da pò, non usate per 13th Step, e canzoni scritte durante il tour. La cosa che non mi convince è che non ci sarà tour per questo album (maynard torna coi tool che stanno aspettando il loro turno da un pò), e che è in uscita ancora il singolo di Blue, il cui video dovrebbe girare nel mese di agosto. Strano anche il fatto che in così poco tempo (relativamente) preparino e quattro e quattr'otto un altro disco (ricordo i perfezionamenti vari che hanno fatto slittare più volte l'uscita dell'ultimo album): insomma Howerdel non è certo uno che fa le cose alla svelta, e tantomeno Jimmy Keenan. Ma non è finita! A novembre uscirà anche il remixed curato da Danny Lohner dei NIN, praticamente il sesto membro del gruppo visto anche il suo apporto in 13th Step (e che ha già fatto un remix spettacolare di weak and powerless, uno per judith, e uno inedito in uscita con la colonna sonora di Resident Evil 2 di the outsider). E ancora... sempre a novembre... DVD LIVE della tourneé americana coi Mars Volta. Stanno uscendo dal contratto con la Virgin, questo è evidente. (Ricordo anche la battaglia degli Smashing Pumpkins epoca Machina II contro la stessa casa discografica... sarà stato l'ultimo arrivato James Iha a dichiarare guerra?). Per poi essere liberi da oneri per un paio di anni sicuro. Vedremo poi se si vogliono ancora bene soprattutto, tutte queste uscite insieme non s'erano mai viste. Poi sicuramente tocca ai Blue Oyster Club (marzo 2005?), spero solo che siano grandi canzoni, come tutte quelle firmate keenan/howerdel. E che per il 2006 si facciano risentire.

una considerazione al di là del fatto che non vedo l'ora di sentire un nuovo album. Talking about a possible change in direction, Selway said: “We’d reached a point at the end of OK Computer where we were sick of that approach to song writing and we needed time away from it. We don’t think we feel that way now.” He continued: “I don’t think we need to knock down what we’ve done before and completely reinvent ourselves but at the same time we need to improve as musicians, we need new material, and to try arrangement ideas”. a me queste dichiarazioni lasciano un pò perplesso. non vorrei che si fermassero... in fondo non l'hanno mai fatto. però penso anche che quel gran disco che è hail to the thief sia una summa, un album definitivo. Se Selway dice fondamentalmente che non cambieranno più di tanto... dobbiamo aspettarci un album sulla falsa riga di HttT? Spero di no!
