there_there Posted July 8, 2012 Report Share Posted July 8, 2012 Oltre a Unisex, pensavo agli Aberdeen, ai St. Cristopher e agli Orchids per rimanere sulle righe dei Blueboy.Poi in effetti i membri dei Blueboy hanno avuto altre band precedenti: The Rileys (bellissimi The World and His Wife e The Happiness EP assieme ai Feverfew) e appunto i Feverfew (con Keith Girdler, la voce dei Blueboy).Tu non gli consiglieresti anche gli Harvest Ministers? L'impianto è più o meno quello - chitarra a costituire il nerbo dei brani, voce maschile androgina accompagnata da voce femminile acuta e flebile, elementi classicheggianti. Gli HM sono ancora più heart-melting, forse... musica da ascoltare quando si è innamorati. myra_lee Posted July 8, 2012 Author Report Share Posted July 8, 2012 Fuori dall'ambito Sarah, mi chiedo invece se oltre ai My Bloody Valentine esista altro shoegaze-pop "in maggiore"... sarà che ho sbagliato io, ma più scendo nei "bassifondi" più trovo roba più sulla vena Slowdive..."in minore"...Uhm, non so se hai sentito A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness dei Rocketship, che pur non essendo esattamente shoegaze (è più noise-pop, e i brani hanno un lungo finale spacey-ambient..) mi ricorda parecchio i MBV prima di Isn't Anything soprattutto nelle melodie vocali, e poi musicalmente puoi sentire che gruppi come i Pains of Being Pure at Heart hanno saccheggiato quest'album. Poi di shoegaze pop "(non sempre)in maggiore"/noisepop è immancabile Complete Recordings dei Black Tambourine. Ecco, adesso mi staranno sfuggendo altri gruppi..Tu non gli consiglieresti anche gli Harvest Ministers? Hai ragionissima, non so come mi siano potuti sfuggire, ho il cervello andato. Comunque quei due singoli degli Aberdeen, Byron e Fireworks, si avvicinano moltissimo alle atmosfere del primo album dei Blueboy (nelle chitarre e nel tipo di voce femminile..): scaricate pure quelli!(macché, tu poi sai spiegare i gruppi molto meglio di me!) E' quella musica che ti viene da pensare "ma...stanno suonando ME! quello sono IO!"
