qwerty Posted August 21, 2005 Report Share Posted August 21, 2005 Salve a tutti!Sono tornato oggi da 10 giorni di vacanza e cristo quante novità...Ma soprattutto quello che ha postato oggi ed! here we gohello good people its sunday august 21 2005 and we're recording....... let me fill you in a little. so apart from a 3 and a half week tour to the other side of the world in april of 2004 the rest of that year was a dormant one for us......... we needed a break ....... the end of another 3 album cycle...... they're not planned like that but thats how it seems to be. we needed to be at home with our families ....... lots of babies too. so we reconvened in mid - february and since then we've been trying to kick start the old beast ...... you don't realize once you've stopped how hard it is to regain the momentum ........ you literally get out the habit of doing it........ but often the only way to stop repeating yourself is to stop doing that thing, walk away from it ....... sometimes you have to go away in order to come back..... so here we are in the studio recording and it feels right. its only day 4, its very early days but really good things are happening .......lots of deconstructing and reassembling. we've been working on mornin' m' lud and pigsee. Di solito ci liberiamo della roba che non riusciamo a piazzare - la riduciamo a dieci penny, o la buttiamo via - ma Barry adora quest'album (lui, personalmente, ne possiede due copie, caso mai qualcuno glielo chiedesse in prestito senza poi restituirglielo), e sostiene che è un pezzo raro, e che un giorno o l'altro renderemo qualcuno molto felice. E' diventata una specie di scherzo, in verità. I clienti ci chiedono come sta l'album in salute, e gli danno pacche affettuose mentre pascolano tra gli espositori, e certe volte lo prendono e vengono fino al banco come se avessero deciso di comprarlo, e all'ultimo ti dicono: "Ah ah! Ci sei cascato!" e lo rinfilano dove l'hanno trovato.Comunque, venerdì mattina, questo tipo che non s'era mai visto prima comincia a rovistare nella sezione "Pop britannico S - Z", getta un gemito di incredulità e si precipita al banco, stringendosi il disco al petto come se temesse che qualcuno glielo portasse via. E poi tira fuori il portafoglio e scuce, per quel disco, sette sterline sette, come nulla fosse, senza nemmeno cercare di tirare sul prezzo e senza battere ciglio. Lascio che sia Berry a servirlo - questo è il suo momento - ma Duck e io osserviamo ogni mossa, col fiato sospeso; è come se qualcuno fosse entrato in negozio, e si fosse versato addosso una latta di benzina, e poi avesse tirato fuori di tasca una scatola di cerini. Tiriamo il fiato solo quando vediamo che non tira fuori il cerino per darsi fuoco, e appena esce dal negozio, cominciamo a ridere e non la smettiamo più. E' un fatto che ci comunica una grande forza: se può succedere che qualcuno semplicemente entri e compri l'album dei Sid James Experience, allora è sicuro che qualcosa di buono può accadere in qualsiasi momento...Il mattino dopo il tipo che ha comprato l'album di Sid James Experience torna per cambiarlo. Dice che non è quello che si aspettava. "Cosa pensavi che fosse?" gli domando. "Non lo so" dice lui. "Qualcos'altro." Si stringe nelle spalle e ci guarda tutti e tre, uno dopo l'altro. E noi tutti lo fissiamo, annichiliti, inorriditi; lui sembra un po' sulle spine. "Ma l'hai sentito tutto?" domanda Barry. "Ho smesso a metà del lato B. Non mi piace." "Sù, va a casa e riprova ad ascoltarlo", dice Barry, con voce disperata. "Vedrai che alla fine ti prende. Questo è un disco che prende."Il tipo scuote la testa, ha l'aria smarrita.
