Il decesso è stato annunciato dalla famiglia del musicista, che ha avuto un ruolo importante - sotto il profilo creativo ed esecutivo - in una serie di grandi album della band, come 'The Dark Side on the Moon' e 'Wish you were here''. La famiglia ha annunciato "con grande tristezza" il decesso e ha chiesto che la sua privacy "sia rispettata in questo momento difficile".Wright ha continuato a far parte dei Pink Floyd in tutte le sue varie incarnazioni, anche dopo l'uscita di Roger Waters nel 1985. Ha dato anche un contributo importante alla nascita dell'ultimo grande album dei Pink Floyd: 'The Division Bell'.E' sempre brutto quando se ne va un pezzo di storia...
