Lacatus Posted June 29, 2016 Author Report Share Posted June 29, 2016 Dunque, secondo l'intervista di Thom a QMagazine, Daydreaming sarebbe il primo brano di A Moon Shaped Pool ad essere stato terminato. Effettivamente si tratta dell'unico pezzo dove l'idea iniziale "very old + very new" è rimasta pressoché intatta. Probabilmente Thom aveva scritto la strofa costituita da sample (campanelli e voce) e arpeggio all'unisono di pianoforte e synth, nel corso delle session di Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, visti i rimandi diretti alle sonorità dei quel disco sample campanelli ---> Pink Section piano + synth ---> Interference sample vocali ---> Truth Ray, Pink Section (probabilmente in origine c'era anche una base ritmica con la machinedrum...) La strofa da sola però non bastava, per cui Thom ha chiesto l'intervento di Jonny (ricordate? Thom e Jonny si scambiarono materiale nel corso dell'estate 2014, mentre Thom dava gli ultimi tocchi a Tomorrow's Modern Boxes), che ha scritto l'interludio strumentale, che si ripete poi in forma di coda, dove gli archi la fanno da padrona.
