Altra info: le registrazioni di Kid A e Amnesiac finirono il 19 aprile 2000. Il master fu consegnato nel luglio 2000: dunque circa 3 mesi separarono la fine delle registrazioni con il l'album FINISHED.

Quindi, tenendo conto che in mezzo ci sono le festività natalizie, dovremmo sentire l'Lp9 nel mese di febbraio 2016.

A proposito di Kid A... il 29 maggio 2000, in piena fase di riascoti, Jonny e Colin dichiararono a una radio olandese che ancora non avevano deciso delle oltre 40 canzoni registrate in quelle session:

DJ: "...for you guys. I've got a lot of questions for you that... you've been working on a new album?"

Jonny: "That's true."

DJ: "And we heard that there was going to be about... that you recorded about forty songs for that new album?"

Jonny: "Mmmm hmmm. Yeah."

DJ: "That is true?"

Jonny: "Yeah."

DJ: "They're never going to fit on one album."

I mean we've been spending the past two or three weeks in rehearsals, Nigel, our producer comes down from London, and we work from four till midnight, we order in a curry from Oxford, and we eat the curry, and we spend the next eight hours with little bits of paper on the kitchen table, with all the names of the songs, and we chop them around, and then we've also got a silk black... silk top hat that collapses, and Thom puts all the names in there, and when we completely lose it, we pull them out at random, out of the hat (everybody laughs), you know, so..."

DJ: "It's the best way."

Colin: "Yeah, it is, often, yes."

Insomma, questo è lo stesso stadio in cui si trovano adesso: decidere che canzoni escludere, quali mettere, in che ordine metterle, decidere il titolo e la copertina dell'album. Per Kid A il processo richiese 3 mesi, quindi se adesso cominciano quest'operazione a novembre, tenendo conto che c'è Natale di mezzo, si può ipotizzare (e, volendo, scommettere) su una pubblicazione dell'Lp9 per febbraio.

Penso sia la più plausibile...esattamente cinque (!) anni dopo TKOL.

Tuttavia mi aspetto comunque qualche sorpresa, non vorrei il singolo prima dell'album (aargh!) ma sono sicuro che qualcosa di strambo avverà anche stavolta!

Io dico che non uscirà nessun singolo. Assolutamente rilascio a sorpresa, come è giusto che sia...la cosa più figa sarebbe direttamente nei negozi, senza passare dal rilascio digitale...in tempi come questi è la vera rivoluzione :-D...

Prevedo invece un rilascio stile TMB...

Scherzi a parte, mi viene a questo punto da dire Marzo, ma anche Aprile. Probabilmente sarà un disco alla "In Rainbows" che era un disco autunnale, questo sicuramente sarà primaverile.

Questa frase è molto importante, perché da sempre titolo dell'album e scelta della copertina vengono scelti da Thom e basta.

Il "titolo" è anche il concetto del disco, chiaramente: insomma, come abbiamo già avuto modo di sapere, finché non riascoltano tutto il materiale (cosa che avverrà al rientro di Thom da Torino) non sono in grado di capire che tipo di album tireranno fuori, che titolo avrà, che copertina avrà, eccetera...

Scherzi a parte, mi viene a questo punto da dire Marzo, ma anche Aprile.

Secondo i calcoli, con le 6 settimane di lavoro tra novembre e dicembre di quest'anno, raggiungeranno le 33 settimane totali di lavoro sull'Lp9, che è stato lo stesso tempo necessario per completare In Rainbows e The King Of Limbs, quindi io vedo più probabile febbraio rispetto ad aprile.

Aggiungo: è ASSAI PROBABILE che questa volta (diversamente da quanto accaduto con In Rainbows, The King Of Limbs e Tomorrow's Modern Boxes) esca un singolo apripista qualche mese prima dell'uscita dell'Lp9, come Defalut e Judge Jury Executioner per Amok.
